Cornbread
Last night didn't go as planned. I got ready to go to the sewing class. I was dressed from head to toe, I had all my supplies together, and I was just finishing up dinner before I was to leave. I put on my oven mit and pulled the cornbread baked in my cast iron skillet out of the oven. I flipped it over on to a plate, so the cornbread would be on a plate instead of in the skillet. But the cornbread didn't come out, so I flipped it back over. I got a fork and slid it around the sides, I thought this would loosen it up so it would slide right out. Well, I grabbed a hold of the handle of the iron skillet, and screamed bloody murder! My husband came a running. I had forgotten to put my oven mit back on. I alternated holding ice packs and dipping my hand in a bowl of cold water all night. I had two ice packs that I was switching back and forth from, and then I'd use a bowl of cold water while they froze back.
My mom brought me some burn relief spray, that I told her that I didn't want. We rarely ever use any type of medicine in this house. I told her it had too many poisonous chemicals in it. Well after about three hours I decided I'd give it a try. So I shook up the bottle and sprayed it on. It made my hand burn worse than when I first burnt it! It felt like I was holding my had in a fire! I thought, maybe it takes a couple of minutes. So I left it on there about a minute or two, and I couldn't stand the pain any longer. I rinsed my hand off with cold water and went back to my ice pack. I finally fell asleep sometime after 3 this morning. Holding my trusty ice pack.
My hand feels fine today, until I get it near heat. So I'll just keep avoiding hot water and keep it away from the stove while cooking. Even if I'm just holding the handle of a pot or skillet on the stove, the heat rising from the burner is painful. So I'll just be avoiding those things today.
After burning my hand, I still thought about going to the sewing class. But I decided against it, cause I probably wouldn't have been able to drive there or sew with my burnt hand.

Oh SaChay, I'm so sorry about your hand...not fun:(
You should try Coloidal(sp?) Silver. It is extremely effective in taking the pain away, especially burns, and it doesn't have any chemicals or anything like that in it.
Hope this helps, and that you feel better soon~
Your friend,
Jenna
Your so thoughtful Jenna! Thank you so much! Where would I find this? Would they sell it at Walmart or GNC?
Oh wow, I'm so sorry about that! I know what it's like to have a burn, but not THAT bad! I use Melaleuca around my house. It has some good ointment for burns... but that won't help you too much since you have to buy it online. Sorry!! But you will be in my thoughts!
And thank you for commenting on my site. This girl has been coming for quite a while and making comments that just don't belong. She's just trying to cause trouble for me. For goodness sakes, just go away!! :)
Anyway, have a wonderful day!
Is it the Melaleuca Tea Tree Oil? Do you work for Melaleuca?
Yes, it's the tea tree oil. I used to work with the company. I still get the stuff, so I can still sign people up. I have used it for 3 years now and have seen a big improvement in our health. It's amazing how different you feel when you get those chemicals OUT!!
I tried working for Melaleuca before. I found it really hard and I canceled after a few months. I don't spend as much money as they want you to spend each month on their products. I hardly ever by cleaning products, I make my own. So I was going in the hole, And I spent more money buying their products for three months (cause you had to buy so many points worth every month, than I spend at the regular store on products to make my cleaning supplies and toiletries, etc in three years! lol Do you do good at it? Do you make more money than you spend?
Yeah, that can happen with Melaleuca if you're not using EVERYTHING. I do the vitamins, hair care, soaps, cleaners, laundry soap, toothpaste, snacks... EVERYTHING. I worked very hard with my business when I first started and was very successful. I actually worked over the Internet buying leads, calling people interested in working from home, and signing them up if they wanted to. I did very well, but my family and my house were suffering. It took me 2 years to figure that out. My checks reached $1000 a couple of times, but my average was about $500 a month. Now that I'm not working at all, I still get $100 a month. So it covers my products, and a week of gas! So it has proved to be worth it, but I was a mess trying to do it from home. Working from home is not for me!! And I don't think I would stick to making my own stuff. Props to you though SaChay!! I love being healthier. It's crazy how different we all feel!!
It sounds like you did Great with Melaleuca! I wish I had done better.
EWWWWW....I'm sooo sorry! You should have seen my face when I read that....
I'm glad all is better.....and I'm sure it was your writing hand, wasn't it?
Actually it wasn't my writing hand, it was my left. So that was good in a way. But my hand is fine now, like it never happened. But since that happened, it seems like I've been getting burnt every time I cook! lol
