Warning: Graphic
March 10, I awoke and went to the bathroom and noticed that there was a couple of spots of bright red blood on the tissue when I wiped. This scared me, so I hopped back in bed and propped my legs up and prayed for the Lord to protect my baby and not let anything happen to it. This was about 10 a.m. I laid in the bed for several hours, I continued to get up and go to the bathroom and check the tissue. I had gotten up about 5-6 times and went to the bathroom and everything was fine, no blood on the tissue. I decided to play it safe and stay in bed with my feet propped up just in case.
I got up about 3 p.m. and went to the bathroom, before I even sat on the toilet blood was pouring from me. It was gushing. Everything happened so fast. One second it was like someone had poured a bucket of blood from me, the next second it had stopped immediately. I looked in the toilet, it was full of bright red blood and about 20-30 blood clots the size of silver dollars. I immediately called my husband at work. I yelled, "Come and get me now, I have to go to the hospital. I'm afraid I'm having a miscarriage."
As soon as I hung up with my husband, my mom called. She was on her lunch break. I told her what had happened and that we were getting ready to go to the hospital. I hurried and tried to clean myself up a little, changed clothes, and threw my hair in a pony tail. By the time I had done this, my mom was at my door. She said, "Come on, I'll take you." As I was walking down the steps to the car I saw my husband driving up the street. I got in the car with my husband and my mom followed behind us.
My husband dropped me off at the door to the ER. I went in, registered, gave them my insurance card, and sat down. I only sat there for a minute or two before I was called back. They already had me in a hospital gown and in the bed by the time my husband got the car parked and to my room.
A couple of nurses that first saw me drilled me with questions and treated me like a criminal because I had not yet seen a doctor for my pregnancy. (I had only known I was pregnant for 9 days!!! People usually don't go to the doctor this soon...) The rest of the staff was very nice and helpful.
A doctor and a nurse practitioner came in talked with me, asked a few questions, and ordered some tests. First was was blood work and an IV port. Then I was wheeled up to ultrasound in my hospital bed. My mom begged to go in and see the ultrasound with me, so I agreed that it'd be okay. I was wheeled into the room, my husband and mom came in and stood beside me. After waiting an few minutes the ultrasound tech came in, she said this is going to be internal. I looked at my mom and said, "You have to leave."
My mom left the room and waited in the hallway. As the tech started the ultrasound she said, "I'm not allowed to comment on anything."
My husband and I said, "Okay, we understand." But then as she was doing the ultrasound she would not even let us see the screen. We could not understand this. I asked to see the screen and was told she'd let me see it when she was finished.
The ultrasound was really painful, almost unbearable. I kept asking her if she was almost finished and I told her I didn't want the ultrasound to last so long because of possible side effects to my baby. The ultrasound lasted 20 minutes. She turned the screen towards us for a split second and then pulled out the wand. The ultrasound was over. I was really sad that I had to go through so much pain and they wouldn't even let me see my baby. All my husband and I saw for that split second was a circle. This circle was the sack that out baby was in.
Next on the list of orders was a pelvic exam to look and see whether my cervix was opened or closed. It was closed, which is a good thing. They then cathed me with an infant catheter to get a clean sample of urine, which I had refused three times, but they done it anyway. They got one drop of urine, which was not enough. So a couple hours later they had me pee in a cup. Why couldn't I have done this first, instead of going through the pain of being cathed?
The doctor and the nurse practitioner came back in the room with my results. They said my pregnancy hormones were high and that I hadn't lost too much blood. And that everything else looked fine. Then the ob came in and told me that the baby looked small for the date of my last period that I had given her. But everything was fine, my baby was fine and healthy! Thank you Heavenly Father!
We left the hospital at 9 p.m. that night. They diagnosed me with a threatened miscarriage and a uti. I was prescribed 100mg of progesterone nightly for the bleeding.
There was so much that happened that I haven't put in this post. It is so long already and has already took me an hour and a half to write this much. So for the sake of my time and the time of whoever is reading this I won't go into all of the details. And so much has happened since this too, I don't know if I'll ever get around to writing about it all. But while I was at the hospital I had family and church members visit and call. My church family gave me a blessing while I was there, they laid their hands on my head, blessed me and prayed for me.
God has really blessed me with this child and this pregnancy has been one blessing after another! I'm so thankful to God for this child and all the children he is going to bless us with in the future! Everything is going GREAT!!! I am 14 weeks and 3 days, today! I'll try to post some pictures later! Please continue to keep my baby, my husband, and I in your in your prayers. And thank you for all they prayers that have already went up for us and all the prayers that will.
My new due date is November 4th!!!!

Hi SaChay!
I was so glad to finally read that it was all ok. Thanks for putting the pic and info at the top, it kept telling me everything would be ok as I read.I can only imagine what you must have been going through, but probably fall far short. I'm 23 and have recently met the man of my dreams, so I still have a while before I may have the priviledge of getting married and having a child. I know however, that I would have been in tears with fear. God is definitely good!!!
I will keep you, your husband and your little "gift" in my prayers.
