This and That....

Thank you all for your prayers and concerns, sorry its been so long since I posted. A couple days after my last post the biological mother ran off to North Carolina, somewhere along the coast, and we have not heard from her since Saturday, August 21, 2010. The first two weeks was very hard and devastating. I was so depressed I couldn't bring myself to do anything. When all of this happened I was in the middle of working on the floor in the baby's room. I had baby furniture all over the house. After about two weeks, I came out of my depression and I had more energy than I've ever had my whole life. I finished the floor in the baby's room, moved all the furniture back, got everything set up in there, painted and completely redecorated the bathroom, and redecorated the kitchen. I done all of this in a matter of a few days. I also put all my energy into keeping a very clean house, this lasted several weeks, but has now worn off.

My Husband left for a business trip this morning, so he will be gone till late this evening. I plan to do a really thorough cleaning of the house today, visit my Dad and Grandparents, and maybe some arts and crafts. I have been making various things, such as baby blankets, belly bands, holiday wreaths and center pieces, knitted baby caps, headbands(picture above), bows and decorated baskets, and I've also been finding some yard sale type items around the house. My sister-in-law and I are planning to go sale at the flea market in a few weeks, which has been a dream of mine for quiet some while. Hopefully we do good, and can go back regularly. I'm going to try to make hair-bows and maybe container candles before we go also.

We Need YOUR Prayers

Pray for me, my family, the baby, the biological mother. Pray that God will work everything out for all our benefit, whatever the outcome may be, HE knows best. The biological mother told me today she is now undecided on whether to keep the baby or adopt it out. Pray that we will also understand and accept HIS decision no matter what.

So Much To Do

So little time.... lol I have been working the past three months to pay for the adoption, and boy have I let everything else slide! My house is a disaster and the baby's room doesn't even resemble a nursery. I have let my house get so cluttered you can't see the surfaces. I still have too much stuff, even though, I have been taking trunk loads to goodwill ever since I found out about the baby! MY PROBLEM: I accept everything anyone gives me.

My Plan
  • Stop accepting things I don't need.
  • When bringing in a new item throwout or give away a similar item.
Well, I'm going to go get busy and clear my kitchen table and counter tops off! I sure would love to be able to see them again!

I Called, You Can Too!

SR 519 Approaches Half-way Point

The Senate resolution opposing ratification of the UN’s Convention on the Rights of the Child is very near the half-way point, with 16 of the needed 34 cosponsors already signed on. To reach this level of success in so short a time is very encouraging – but we still have a ways to go, and need to get there quickly!

You know as we do that if your senator is a Republican, there is no reason for him not to sign on, so we are targeting that group this week. The only reason many have not cosponsored yet is that they don’t think it is important enough to make the effort – and your phone calls are needed to change that perception. If they get enough phone calls about an issue, it becomes important, so we need you to make SR 519 vital to them!

If Your Senator Is a Democrat...

...don’t quit calling. This is not a partisan issue, and there is a chance your senator may sign on. Find their Washington number at ParentalRights.org/Status, and urge them to oppose international law by co-sponsoring SR 519. And tell your friends so they can call, too!

If Your Senator Is a Republican and Not a Cosponsor...

...he is one of our targets this week. Please take the following actions:

1. Call your Senators. Tell them we don’t want international law running our country. Tell them to seize this opportunity to win a victory against the Obama agenda.

To easily check their status and get their Washington phone numbers, find your state on the list at ParentalRights.org/Status. If you have already called their D.C. office, please call their District Offices at the numbers listed below. Alternate every couple of days and keep calling both offices!

2. Tell your friends. Every chance you get, tell your friends about the dangers of the CRC, the UN’s treaty that would transform parental authority into a treaty obligation of the national government, making Washington responsible to ensure that you raise your kids according to UN standards. Send them to ParentalRights.org to sign the petition (or have them sign a printed copy), and encourage them to join you in calling your senators!

Campaign 519 Beyond Half-way

We have received more than 335 donations so far in our campaign to stop the CRC. Our goal of 519 donors giving $5.19 or more to support Senate Resolution 519 is now within reach, with fewer than 200 donors to go. If you haven’t given yet, please click here to make your contribution and help us reach our goal.

Call Your Congressman

If your Congressman is not already a cosponsor of the Parental Rights Amendment (HJRes. 42), call and urge him to sign on. As the elections approach, candidates from both parties are beginning to realize that the parental rights issue is vital to all Americans. Representatives from either party may wish to sign on now to help their re-election campaigns. You might want to mention this to them, as well.

To take action, visit ParentalRights.org/States and click on your state. Then, if your Congressman is not already a cosponsor, click on his name to get his contact information – and give him a call. Tell him you believe parental rights will be a major issue this election, and that it can only help his chances if he defends parental rights by cosponsoring HJRes. 42, the Parental Rights Amendment. Be courteous, and thank the staff workers for their time.

Its A Boy!

As you can see, we found out the sex of the baby! My husband is so excited we're having a little boy, he's already making future plans of hunting, fishing, dirt bikes, and sports! lol He is absolutely thrilled! I'm so excited too! I have to start on the nursery soon! I want to make practically everything, the curtains, sheets, bumper pad, crib skirt, paint some baskets for the room, make some decorations, paint the nursery, get new flooring for the nursery, the list goes on and on.

On a side note, I have been learning to embroider! I love it! I've only learned two stitches so far, the running stitch and the hem stitch. I've made some new friends that love sewing, so I'm learning so much from them. And they have a great love for God and it just makes the friendship so much better. We just clicked the instant we met and I believe it was because our shared love in Christ.

Strange Reactions

We finally told everyone in our family, we couldn't wait until the next appointment which is a week from today. Some family members were extremely excited and others weren't happy at all. I had some that were happy and excited until we told them we were adopting, then they were like no, don't adopt, whats wrong with you?.... About half of the people we told acted like it was the most horrible sin we could ever commit. I wasn't expecting these types of reactions, they almost had me in tears. I told one family member, "Well, my husband, me, and they baby will all just be happy together, even if no one else is." What is wrong with people today? Why can't the just see that ALL children are a blessing from the Lord?!

First Appointment

Last Tuesday, April 6th was the first appointment. Things didn't go as planned, I was supposed to be there, but wasn't even told of the appointment. I was told later that night that the birth mother went to her first appointment. I was kind of upset, but I'm just glad that she finally went to the doctor.

The doctor said the baby was perfectly fine and healthy so far. The baby was at 10 1/2 weeks, so now its at 11 1/2. Its heartbeat was 155 and the baby's due date is October 28!

Its exciting! The next appointment is May 7th, I can't wait! We will probably tell our family after this appointment. I'm kind of nervous of how they'll react....

More Updates

I got to talk to the Birth Mother today. She was so nice and honest. But she does need your prayers, she has an addiction. So prayers are especially needed for the safety and health of the Baby. Her previous two children were boys and she said she had the same dependency while pregnant with them and they turned out just fine, so we are hoping for a healthy baby this pregnancy too. Nothing is impossible for God! She said this pregnancy is completely different than the other two and so she is convinced she is having a girl. She said she would like to be a part of the baby's life and be able to visit and that she would like to pick its name. I told her that was completely fine with me, I wouldn't mind a bit! If it were to be a girl she already has a beautiful name picked out, Lindsay Rayne!

Update

God has blessed us so! The Baby has been promised to us! We are no longer second in line, Praise God! Legal papers and doctor visits will soon be in the future. Oh, how I can't wait to hear the baby's heart beat and see it on the ultrasound screen! We're trusting in the Lord that we will have a precious baby to hold in our arms in less than seven months! Please continue to pray that the baby is healthy. And that the financial part of the adoption won't be a burden and that the adoption itself will be smooth and easy.

Thank you SO MUCH for your prayers! God does listen!

Please Pray

We just got an offer today that we couldn't refuse. There is a lady that is currently pregnant and wanting to give up her baby when she has it. We, of course, would LOVE to have the baby. We are second in line, there was another couple wanting the baby, but haven't made up their minds completely yet. Please pray that the baby is healthy. And that the financial part of the adoption won't be a burden and that the adoption itself will be smooth and easy.

We hope this is an answer to our prayers!

Happy Late New Year

I'm a couple days late, but that's okay. I started off my new year pretty good. I rung in the new year at church and later that evening I went to the gym with my husband. I also went to the gym yesterday, I worked out 2 hours both days and hopefully I'll stick with it the rest of the year and the rest of my life! lol I'd like to go to the gym today, but my husband wants to rest, so I may do an exercise video. I can't wait to go back to the gym tomorrow, I feel so good after working out. The first day I worked out on the treadmill and the elliptical machine and then stretched with my husband. Yesterday I also used the treadmill and elliptical machine, then my husband and I lifted weights, done a count down exercise, and stretched together. I know I'll be able to stick with this as long as my husband does, because wherever my husband is, I'll always love to be there by his side.
